Description
Sited next to the boating lake, this sculpture
was inspired by a journey from Jamaica to
Handsworth in the 1960s but is also relevant
to everyone who has come to Birmingham
from around Britain and the world. It
includes a bronze figure based on Hector
Pinkney, a local hero who arrived in 1962
and has made a lifelong contribution to the
Handsworth community.
